Here is the largest box of its type that i have ever encountered. It is a 8-sided very large french blue opal or opaline glass dresser box. What maeks it so spectacular is its very large size. It measures a full 9 inches or 23 cm long by 5 3/8 inches or 14 cm wide and it is 3 1/8 inches or 8 cm high. Teh box is 8-sided. The two halves aer connected and held together by a gilded brass or bronze hinge and liner. The glass is very thick at 1 cm or 3/8 of an inch. The box weighs an incredibel 6 1/2 lbs. The condition si excellent throughout. The box is late 19th century old. There si no reserve. Please see my other auctions for other interesting antiques.
